Dr. Ami Bera

- As a first generation American, Dr. Ami Bera attended California’s public schools from kindergarten through to medical school. Dr. Bera worked part-time and used scholarships to put himself through the University of California, Irvine where he earned his BS in Biological Sciences and MD.
- Dr. Bera served this community for 21 years as a doctor, as Sacramento County’s Chief Medical Officer, and then as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UC Davis, where he taught the next generation of doctors to care for their patients.
- Dr. Bera was elected to Congress in 2012, where he now serves on the House Science Committee. Dr. Bera won his seat taking on a long time Republican incumbent in one of the highest profile races of 2012, was re-elected twice in hard fought races and remains one of national Republicans top targets, which is why he needs your help today.
