314 Action Endorses 35 Scientists, Engineers and STEM Professionals for State Legislative Seats Across the Country

(Washington, D.C.) -- Today 314 Action, the largest organization created specifically for scientists and STEM professionals running for office, endorsed 35 candidates with STEM backgrounds for state legislature and local offices.

Quick facts about 314 Action:

  • 314 Action has trained more than 1,500 scientists to run for public office, and continues to recruit STEM professionals to step up and run.

  • Since 2017, more than 7,000 scientists and STEM professionals have reached out to 314 Action for training and support.

  • Endorsed candidates receive the support of 314 Action, including the visibility of 314 Action’s 400,000 members and logistical campaign staff from 314 Action’s political team.

Director of Communication for 314 Action Ted Bordelon released the following statement:

“The Trump Administration has made it clear that it will not drop its assault on science and facts. More than ever, our country needs those with scientific training to heed the call and run for public office. Today, 314 Action is proud to stand with these candidates who have pledged to base policy on evidence. Some of the most egregious attacks on science occur at the state and local levels, which is why these candidates and their campaigns are so important in today's political climate.”
