Candidate for US Congress, Pennsylvania's 10th District
Eric is an award-winning epidemiologist, working to prevent diseases and keep communities healthy. He has taken on the prescription drug industry to expose the deadly side effects of the painkillers. He also founded Toxin Alert to expose lead poisoning and prevent another Flint tragedy, and created a campaign for cancer prevention that got six million people involved in donating to find cures for cancer.
Eric immigrated to the United States from China. He grew up in Central Pennsylvania, where his mother is a teacher and his father was a blue-collar factory worker. During his early childhood, Eric’s family struggled with hunger and poverty, and he learned the importance of helping the less fortunate in our community.
After having a large tumor removed that doctors feared would kill him, Eric was inspired to pursue a career in public health, eventually earning public health and dual doctoral degrees from Harvard University.
Eric is running for Congress because he understands the American Dream is fading for many families. He will use his background as a Harvard-trained scientist to find smart solutions to improve the lives of everyone in our community.
Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District was recently redrawn by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to include the more Democratic Harrisburg metro area, creating a newly competitive district. The hardline conservative incumbent will be forced to campaign in a largely new district. Real Clear Politics has recently rated the race a “Toss Up”.
Eric would be the first public health scientist elected to Congress, but he needs your help to get there!
