314 Action Congratulates Jacky Rosen on Her Victory for Nevada Senate

(Washington, D.C.) -- Today, 314 Action, the largest organization created specifically for scientists and STEM professionals running for office, congratulates Jacky Rosen on her historic election to the U.S. Senate, marking the first time the Silver State will be represented by two women Senators. The organization endorsed Rosen shortly after she entered the race because of her technical background as a computer programmer and her commitment to evidence based policy making.

314 Action contributed the maximum amount allowable to Rosen’s campaign and raised an additional sum for her campaign from its network of almost 500,000 scientists, STEM professionals and science supporters. In addition, 314 Action Fund spent nearly $200,000 on a voter registration drive to increase Latino voter turnout in the election as well as extensive earned and social media support throughout the primary and general election.

President and Co-Founder of 314 Action, Shaughnessy Naughton, released the following statement:

"Jacky Rosen is an experienced legislator with a proven track record for solving problems. She has already proven to be a staunch defender of science in Congress, and she’ll make an even better Senator who is committed to quality health care for all Nevadans, fighting climate change, and protecting Nevada’s environment. We congratulate Jacky on her victory in Nevada and on her hard-fought campaign.”
