314 Action Fund today congratulates Kristina Knickerbocker on flipping Ohio’s 10th Congressional District. She defeated 23-year incumbent Mike Turner in an R+4 district. Following her successful election, 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton released a statement:
“314 Action Fund congratulates Kristina Knickerbocker on her historic win—flipping Ohio’s 10th Congressional District,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “Democrats have not held this seat in more than two decades but Kristina delivered an upset victory tonight because voters are sick of do-nothing politicians who won’t stand up to Donald Trump.”
“As an oncology-nurse practitioner and veteran who has led medical teams for the U.S. Air Force, Kristina Knickerbocker understands the cost of war and real-life impacts of gutting affordable healthcare and research, especially for cancer patients. Tonight, the GOP’s anti-healthcare agenda cost Mike Turner his job as Ohioans chose to send a nurse to Washington. She joins the growing number of medical professionals elected to office this cycle with 314 Action’s support and we look forward to working with her in Congress.”
Kristina Knickerbocker is a U.S. Air Force veteran, oncology nurse practitioner, and mom of two. As a major in the 88th Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson AFB, she led efforts to improve medical care and readiness for servicemembers, later serving with the 445th Aeromedical Staging Squadron. In the Air Force Reserves, she became a Neuro-Oncology Nurse Practitioner at OSU Medical Center, caring for cancer patients while witnessing firsthand the strains on our healthcare system.
As an Air Force veteran and an oncology nurse practitioner, Knickerbocker is a Guardians of Public Health candidate. She’s answering the call to serve as 314 Action aims to elect 100 new doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals by 2030, raising and spending over $25 million in the effort.
