(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) — Today marks the 56th anniversary of Earth Day, the global celebration of our planet and environmental protection. 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton released the following statement honoring Earth Day:
“Since taking office again, Donald Trump has done everything in his power to roll back environmental protections, weaken climate regulations, and halt progress. He sided with Big Ag, betrayed America’s farmers and took a sledgehammer to the EPA.
“Meanwhile, as RFK Jr. continues to promote conspiracy theories about mercury in vaccines, mercury is belched out by power plants across the nation. MAHA said they wanted healthier food and a cleaner environment, and instead we got total immunity for chemical manufacturers and a war over oil and gas. They are selling our health, our safety, and our planet to the highest bidder.
“For the last 10 years, 314 Action has been on the forefront of the fight against climate change. Now more than ever, it’s crucial that we continue to elect pro-science, pro-climate leaders, and scientists in office to protect Earth for generations to come.”
