Dan Wilson is the Representative-elect for Minnesota House District 26A, having unseated Rep. Aaron Repinski in a competitive race. A farmer, laborer, and community advocate from Winona County, Wilson brings a lifelong commitment to public service. In response, 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton released the following statement:
“Congratulations to Dan Wilson on his election to the Minnesota State House to represent District 26A. Dan understands that the challenges facing Minnesotans require common sense, evidence-based leadership on issues like the housing shortage, tackling fraud and making sure data centers pay their fair share.”
“As a young man, Dan served as a live-in volunteer at a home for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity and led a grassroots movement to protect natural resources in the community. Today, on top of farming and raising his two children, he also serves on the Winona Economic Development Authority, chairs Hope for Homes, and volunteers with Wilson Fire and Rescue. Voters can rely on him to get to work in Saint Paul, tackling issues that require complex solutions, from repairing soil health, to making childcare and healthcare more affordable, and ensuring the economy uplifts all Minnesota families.”
A Winona County resident for 20 years, Wilson spent six years as a live-in volunteer at Bethany House before helping lead the grassroots movement to ban frac sand mining in the county. He and his wife, Rachel, raise rotationally grazed cattle and their two children on their farm. His campaign championed affordable healthcare, housing, and economic fairness for Minnesota families. In Saint Paul, he will join fellow STEM candidates Brian Cohn, Rep. Brad Tabke, and Rep. Kari Rehrauer in advancing evidence-based, responsible leadership. 314 Action endorsed these leaders to strengthen the Democratic majority in the Minnesota State House.
