314 Action Fund Congratulates Rep. Kari Rehrauer on Re-Election to Minnesota House District 35B

In a competitive rematch against Republican challenger Steve Pape, State Rep. Kari Rehrauer secured re-election to Minnesota House District 35B this evening. A former middle school biology teacher, Rep. Rehrauer campaigned on her record of strengthening public education, fighting against fraud, and keeping her community safe. In response, 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton released the following statement:

“Congratulations to Rep. Rehrauer on her re-election to Minnesota House District 35B. Holding onto this swing seat was critical for Minnesota Democrats, who have maintained a majority in the State House, and we’re thrilled to see the former science teacher return to Saint Paul, where she has clearly earned the trust of voters in her community. Rep. Rehrauer will continue fighting for public schools, healthcare access and affordable housing because she understands what families need to thrive.”

“Rep. Rehrauer draws on her experience as a STEM educator and public servant to deliver results. She helped save Hennepin County Medical Center from closure, secured $10 million in additional compensatory aid for public schools, and supported evidence-based programs like Math Corps to help students succeed. She has also worked hard to restore her community’s trust in government, strengthening oversight by establishing a new government watchdog office to prevent fraud and protect public resources. We look forward to seeing her lead the charge for responsive, effective leadership for Minnesota once again.”

Kari Rehrauer represents District 35B in the Minnesota House, where she was first elected in 2024. She spent two decades teaching middle school biology before joining Education Minnesota as field staff in 2020 and serving on the Coon Rapids City Council from 2020 to 2024. Rep. Rehrauer holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in education from the University of Minnesota. A longtime advocate for public education, healthcare and environmental protection, she lives in Coon Rapids with her husband, Dan, and their family.
