Today, 314 Action Fund endorsed ER Nurse Mitchell Berman for Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District. As a registered nurse, Berman is a Guardians of Public Health candidate, answering the call to serve. 314 Action is on a mission to elect 100 new doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals by 2030 and has committed $25 million to this effort.

Mitchell Berman is an emergency room nurse with 23 years of experience in healthcare, including 11 years caring for veterans as an ER nurse at the VA. A lifelong union member and first-generation college graduate raised in a working-class family, he saw firsthand how gaps in our healthcare system impact veterans and working families. WI-01, which was previously held by former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, was just added to the DCCC’s Red to Blue program, signaling a real path forward to flipping the district for the first time since 1994.
