314 Action Fund has raised $2.5 million in grassroots donations directly to Dr. Amy Acton’s campaign for Governor of Ohio. The haul comes as Dr. Acton heads into the final three weeks of the race against Vivek Ramaswamy. In response, 314 Action Executive Director Erik Polyak issued the following statement:
“Vivek Ramaswamy is trying to buy the governor’s office like it’s another private jet in his collection. He has spent a fortune lying about Dr. Acton because he can’t run on his own record. This is the same guy who went to Washington and tried to gut funding for veterans’ healthcare. Ohioans already know Dr. Acton and they trust her to lead the state again. This is a contest between a doctor and a billionaire—voters have a clear choice on November 3rd and we’re confident Dr. Amy Acton will be the next Governor of Ohio.
“Dr. Acton’s support is coming from people across Ohio and the country who chipped in what they could because they trust her. 314 Action Fund has raised $2.5 million directly from grassroots donors to help Dr. Acton fight back against Ramaswamy’s open checkbook. She is going to be the first woman ever elected Governor of Ohio, and Vivek Ramaswamy can’t buy his way past her momentum.”
314 Action Fund recruited and endorsed Dr. Acton as a Guardians of Public Health candidate in June 2025. As Director of the Ohio Department of Health, she led the state’s COVID-19 response under Governor DeWine. More than 1,000 Ohio doctors have since backed her campaign, rejecting the Ohio State Medical Association’s endorsement of Ramaswamy. She is part of 314 Action’s $25 million recruitment campaign to elect 100 new doctors, nurses and health care leaders to statehouses and Congress by 2030.
