Today, the United States Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee held a hearing to question Dr. Anthony Fauci. Ahead of the hearing, Sen. Rand Paul released 1,014 pages of Dr. Fauci’s private diary entries. In response, 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton released the following statement:
“Republicans are re-litigating COVID-19 because they are losing,” said 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton. “Trump, RFK Jr. and their cult of co-conspirators are attempting to rewrite history based only on the scribbles inscribed in the private diary of America’s top scientist—if only they paid this much attention to the contents of the Epstein files. This is what you get when you let a failed reality TV star run the U.S. government. This sham hearing is a daytime soap opera with an audience of one: Donald Trump.
“If Republicans are really looking for answers to what causes infectious disease outbreaks, they’re searching in the wrong place. They should look no further than to our own health secretary whose deranged anti-vaccine policy upended public health and spawned the worst measles outbreak in America in nearly 30 years, unleashed a flesh-eating virus on American farmland and livestock and caused an explosive diarrhea outbreak in nine states,” Naughton continued.
“Today’s hearing was farcical. Over 50-plus years of public service, Dr. Fauci is credited with saving over 30 million lives from HIV/AIDS, communicable tropical and childhood diseases, COVID-19, and vaccine preventable deaths. A recent poll shows more than half of Americans still have confidence in Dr. Fauci today than they do in our current public health officials. Americans do not trust RFK Jr. and this revenge tour is not going to change that.”
