314 Action is proud to announce that we have surpassed $100 million raised—ten years since the organization was founded to elect scientists to office. As the only organization working to recruit, train and elect Democratic scientists across the country, 314 Action has firmly positioned itself to be one of the most consequential outside groups in Democratic politics in the midterms, 2028 and beyond.
This cycle alone, 314 Action has raised more than $25 million, representing one-quarter of the organization’s lifetime fundraising total. The organization has also made a record $14.5 million investment in STEM candidates in Democratic primaries this year—the largest primary investment in its history.
As Donald Trump and RFK Jr. intensify their attacks on science and healthcare, dismantle America’s public health agencies, and undermine the country’s ability to respond to infectious disease outbreaks, our mission has never been more urgent—and it’s mobilizing a growing network of pro-science donors. In fact, more than 550,000 grassroots donors have supported the organization’s work, and nearly 70% of all contributions to 314 Action Fund come from grassroots donors.
While other groups struggle to raise money and maintain momentum, 314 Action has set a new fundraising record every year. The numbers tell the story of an organization that has scaled its impact every cycle—and is continuing to grow, while similar organizations fail to keep pace.
Record-Breaking Investment in the 2026 Primaries
314 Action Fund has previously announced $12 million invested in Democratic primaries this cycle alone. As we surpass this major fundraising milestone today—that number is now over $14.5 million invested in Democratic primaries this cycle—that’s more than we’ve spent in any primary cycle in our organization’s history.
- This investment has funded independent expenditures, digital advertising, direct mail, television, and Joint Fundraising Committees for STEM candidates in competitive primaries nationwide.
- Our targeted investments have turned into major primary wins in Illinois, Arizona, Colorado, California, Georgia, and counting.
A Grassroots Powerhouse
Nearly 70% of all funds to 314 Action have come directly from grassroots donors over the last ten years, roughly $67.6 million. When the mission is clear, people mobilize.
- 314 Action is powered by a grassroots donor network of over 550,000 with an average donation of $17, supporting scientists and healthcare professionals.
- While other Democratic organizations report fundraising slowdowns this cycle, 314 Action’s small and mid-dollar donor base has continued to grow, because the threat to science, medicine, and public health under Trump and RFK Jr. has never been more clear.
Bottom Line: What started as a first-of-its-kind organization a decade ago, is now a $100 million operation that outraises its peers, grows its grassroots donor base every cycle, and sets primary spending records year after year. Today, we’re building the infrastructure, the donor base, and the candidate pipeline to be a major player in Democratic politics heading into the presidential cycle.
