“The first real test as CDC Director will be responding to Trump’s dangerous executive order”
(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) — Yesterday, Donald Trump signed a new executive order, escalating his campaign against the childhood vaccine schedule before Dr. Erica Schwartz, the newly appointed director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) could be sworn into office. In response, 314 Action spokesperson Grace Silva released the following statement:
“Trump and RFK Jr. are already cutting Dr. Erica Schwartz out of crucial public health decisions. The latest executive order takes a sledgehammer to childhood vaccine recommendations and completely bypasses the CDC’s role in setting vaccine policy, all conveniently before the newest CDC Director could be sworn into office. This is not a coincidence, this is an intentionally devious and deceptive move by the administration to dodge accountability, further undermine the CDC and erode trust in vaccine safety.

Americans deserve someone who will defend public health and follow the science—it’s time for Dr. Schwartz to prove she’s more than a loyalist. If she refuses to stand up to Trump and RFK Jr.’s anti-vaccine antics, it will prove that Dr. Schwartz is not up for the job.”
