Today, Hawaii Governor Doctor Josh Green, an Emergency Room Physician, was joined by medical practitioners from Congress, including Rep. Ami Bera (CA-06), Rep. Kim Schrier (WA-08), Rep. Lauren Underwood (IL-14), and Rep. Herb Conaway (NJ-03), and 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton to discuss the importance of preserving Americans’ public health, including protecting vaccines for childhood diseases. Governor Green spoke about his role in vaccinating Samoans after a deadly measles outbreak infected 5,000 people and killed dozens of children following RFK Jr.'s misinformation campaign. Governor Green warned of the dangers posed by RFK Jr.’s nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The ads feature Dr. Josh Green, Governor of Hawaii; Nadine Telle Salle, Chief of Pediatrics in Queens Health System; and Dr. Heath Chung, an infectious disease specialist, as they describe the devastation RFK Jr. directly caused in Samoa by spreading medical disinformation that led to the death of 83 people, mostly young children.

As first reported in Axios, the organization's ad campaign will put the spotlight on five Republican U.S. Senators, including Susan Collins (R-ME), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Bill Cassidy (R-LA), John Cornyn (R-TX) and call on them to vote against Robert F. Kennedy’s confirmation.
"The agency responsible for protecting the health of hundreds of millions of Americans should be led by respected scientists, physicians, and watchdogs, not by witches and conspiracy theorists," said Naughton.
314 Action Fund today congratulated space technologist and former NASA Chief of Staff George Whitesides on his victory in California’s 27th Congressional District. Whitesides won one of the most competitive House seats, defeating GOP Rep. Mike Garcia, to become the third STEM challenger to flip a seat blue. STEM candidates John Mannion (NY-22) and Janelle Bynum (OR-05) also ousted GOP incumbents in their respective races.
314 Action Fund today congratulated engineer Janelle Bynum on her historic win in Oregon’s Fifth Congressional District. She successfully flipped one of the most crucial House seats and in doing so, Congresswoman-elect Bynum will become the first Black member of Congress to represent Oregon. 314 Action Fund spent $2.4 million in Oregon’s 5th district race. Bynum became the 2nd STEM challenger to flip a seat after former science teacher John Mannion won in NY-22.
Tonight, 314 Action Fund congratulates Kelly Morrison on her historic victory in Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District. Once sworn in, she will become the first female OB-GYN in Congress.
