“It’s a complete failure of our health care system that Black women are still three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “This disparity shouldn’t exist. That’s why Representative Lauren Underwood, a registered nurse, public health expert and National Co-Chair of our Guardians of Public Health initiative, led the charge in co-founding the bipartisan Black Maternal Health Caucus seven years ago.”
“Congratulations to the entire Artemis II crew and team—this mission illustrates what we accomplish when we invest in science, innovation, and our future,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “This feat wouldn’t be possible without continued funding to our scientific programs and agencies. But, if Trump gets his way, he will leave a mutli-billion-dollar hole in research budgets, thousands of grants will remain frozen, progress will come to a screeching halt.”
“Americans don't trust influencers and podcasters to give medical advice, and no one wants to listen to RFK Jr.”
“As Donald Trump and RFK Jr. ramp up their attacks on public health, Dr. Jasmine Clark is the only candidate in the race who can defend Georgians against their anti-science policies,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “As a scientist, educator and state representative, Dr. Clark has stood on the frontlines against their war on science and exemplifies the importance of electing scientists to office. She’s proven she will stand up to Republicans, debunk dangerous misinformation, and deliver lasting results that protect health care and lower costs. We’re proud to endorse Dr. Clark and look forward to supporting her campaign.”
“As this administration scrambles to find more money for bombs, more than one-third of Americans are scaling back on everyday expenses, including skipping meals to keep up with rising health care costs. Across the country, families are getting squeezed at the gas pump, the grocery store and the doctor’s office. With health care costs on the rise, now Trump wants to make deeper cuts to federal health programs, including more cuts to the NIH.
“When we invest in American science and innovation, we lead the world,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “Artemis II is a shining example of what is possible when research and technology are properly funded—and this should be just the beginning of how far we can go. But, with billions of dollars stripped from scientific research budgets, thousands of grants cancelled, and many of our best and brightest federal employees unceremoniously fired by this administration, Trump will bring frontier-leading research efforts to a grinding halt.
“As a high school math teacher, Jake is a natural problem-solver. As Republicans stand by while this administration spends billions on endless wars while slashing funding for health care—the numbers in Washington just aren’t adding up,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “From the classroom to Congress, we desperately need leaders like Jake with real-world experience and expertise we can count on. We’re proud to endorse Jake and look forward to supporting his campaign.”
“With health insurance costs and everyday expenses rising, we need a proven leader in Congress—and that’s Dr. Amish Shah,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “As an emergency medicine doctor and a former legislator, Dr. Shah knows what it takes to deliver evidence-based solutions. It’s why he has had more bills signed into law than any Arizona Democrat in the past decade. We’re proud to endorse him and look forward to supporting his campaign.”
On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported that the White House plans to delay nominating a CDC Director, with no candidates who align with Secretary Robert F. Kennedy’s unpopular anti-vaccine agenda. In response, 314 Action spokesperson Grace Silva released the following statement: “The White House can’t find anyone who will uphold RFK Jr.’s dangerously unpopular anti-vaccine agenda. With […]
Emily Gregory elected as Donald Trump’s State Representative in special election for HD-87 Emily Gregory, a public health expert, delivered a major upset in the special election to flip Florida’s 87th State House District. Representative-elect Gregory is now Donald Trump’s state representative as House District 87 includes Palm Beach and Mar-a-Lago. In response, 314 Action […]
